About Me

Cornish girl new to Australia (on the working-holiday visa) having spent the last 6 months travelling through SE Asia! Down Under for a year, probably longer..

Looking for hosts and surfers to: surf!, go for dinner/drinks(hangout), find some cool things to do & have a blast!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Gain a cultured and authentic experience everywhere I visit but first and foremost make some friends along the way!!

Having just made my way through South East Asia I am now in Australia on the working-holiday visa. I am using Couchsurf to meet new people, make friends and learn as much as I can about the many wonders I stumble across!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music! Indie, indie-rock, pop, hip-hop, dance, cheesy 80's/90's classics and even classical! Coldplay, The Stone Roses and Frank Turner feature heavily on the MP3 playlists. Similarly, I love to dance! Dancing turns frowns upside down. It's renown fact among friends and family that I simply cannot do it.. but I'm a firm believer in doing it anyway. Just because you "can't" doesn't mean you "shouldn't". Get up on that table and throw them shapes like nobody is watching! (that's what I do anyway).

Reading is great. Admittedly I don't read as often as I should/want to, but whilst travelling I have found a lot of time for it & have definitely got the bug back. Love to read spy/crime thrillers. William Boyd is always a winner.

Any film that can make me laugh, i'm a fan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered on various projects throughout my time at university. One project was weekly "IT help sessions for the elderly". By simply helping/teaching a gentleman to navigate around his iPad was very rewarding. This was trumped by the wonders of Skype! On the second session he told me that he lives alone and very rarely sees his family, as they live all over the world. I told him all about Skype, what it does/how simple it is to use and downlanded it for him. The smile painted on his face when he learnt he could video call his family at the touch of a few buttons, is one i'll always remember. The happiness and gratitude expressed as well as an overwhelming amount of hugs received for something I considered to be a trivial norm, was pretty special.
