About Me
Hello,
My Name is Jemma and I am 23 years old. I Come from Sydney, Australia and grew up on a small property in a region called the Blue Mountains with Donkeys, chickens, ducks, dogs, Alpacas. I love all animals, the outdoors, trekking and working outside. For University I moved to Sydney City where I completed my degree in Applied Science, Exercise Physiology.
I am passionate about health, fitness, nutrition and worked at the University Gym whilst I was studying at Uni. Throughout my life I have been very active and played a lot of sport, from soccer to boxing (can you play boxing?).
My favourite things to do are run, read, cook, trekking, eat, drink the occasional red wine, go to the beach and walk/play with dogs!
I am passionate about sustainability, the environment and recycling and am learning about more ways I can contribute to a healthier earth and reduce my impact on waste, landfill and work towards a sustainable, wholesome future.
I am hard working, but also super relaxed, love to chat, cook, eat and learn off other people and their passions. I am a social person and happy to explore outside of my comfort zone. I love trying different types of food and learning how to cook different dishes and was fortunate enough to have grown up in a vibrant household, learning to appreciate family time and conversation over meals (or cups of tea). I have an abundance of energy and am always happy to work hard when given jobs, duties and responsibilities, no matter what they are. I am open to new opportunities and challenges and ready to learn new skills, or share my current knowledge and abilities. I am responsible, compassionate, honest and aim to live everyday with integrity, kindness, and connect to the people around me.
I have done a fair bit of travel, taking me from South America, New Zealand, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and more! I am driven to see more of the world, explore, live locally and meet people - and what better way to do it then to couch surf! I am looking forward to meeting some people from all walks of life.
From my previous jobs I have developed people skills, Conversation and Communication skills, Ability to Work Under Pressure, ability to work in a team, Decision Making, Time Management, Self-motivation, Conflict Resolution, Leadership, Adaptability.
