About Me

First thing's first: I strongly prefer that you have CS experience and references. I'm sure you understand, for safety's sake.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I'm sad to say that I'm currently not available to host, although I'd be more than happy to meet up in Chicago if I'm available!

--------------------------------------------------------------

(I go by my former-middle-now-first name, Jemma, now! I used to be Gaby, which was my former first name, so don't be confused when reading my references!)

I'm a circus school dropout. I'm now working as a flight attendant and I couldn't be happier :)

Probably the most important thing to know about me is that I'm a total goofball 🤡

If you're a Burner catch me on the playa!

Interests

THE ARTS!: Circus, music, photography, theater, dancing, festivals, travel (DUH), etc.

------------------------------------------------------------

All in all, I am incredibly social and thrive on meeting new people and being with friends. I very much enjoy conversations about life, instinct, and society & culture. If you're interested in removing or reducing meat/animal products from your life we can certainly have a (non-heated) conversation about that :) Also totally obsessed with the Broadway musical Hadestown as well as the immersive Punchdrunk show Sleep No More.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: American Beauty, Spaceballs, The VVitch, Her, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and so many more!

Music: Guster, The Beatles, Phutureprimitive, Bluetech, Emancipator, The Decemberists, The Mountain Goats, Tipper, The Polish Ambassador, Ott, M83, Active Child, Mozart, Shpongle, Shlohmo, Frank Zappa, Carly Rar Jepsen, etc. etc. etc.!

I play ukulele, saxophone, and a bunch of other random instruments. I studied musical theater in university and singing is a passion of mine.

You should absolutely check read The Name of the Wind (and then The Wise Man's Fear) by Patrick Rothfuss. Seriously, it's that good. I feel similarly about The Humans by Matt Haig.

...Also everyone should read Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman and Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. I think if everyone read these books the world would be a much, much better place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The world is beautiful!

Burning Man is amazing and generally indescribable. I've been attending since 2012.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think everyone has their own unique experiences that they've acquired through traveling and general life and therefore everyone has something great to offer to others. I'm always very eager to help people out, whether it be sharing knowledge of a certain place, or teaching some sort of musical or circus skill. If you're interested in vegan cooking I can certainly help you out there!

If you'd like, I'd also be more than happy to help you out with your English. No question is silly! I spent 4 months teaching year 7 & 9 Thai students in a public school in Bangkok.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Vegetarian and vegan cooking, songs, stories, laughs, stories, music, circus, English lessons.
