I love to travel but my job keeps me in one place. But when I get the chance to, I'm impulsive enough to book a ticket to some other place, within and outside my country.

i have been humbled in life enough to realize that even someone wearing shoes in worse conditions than the one I'm wearing, can have as much to offer me, as I, them, if not more.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

When my friend told me she couchsurfs and not spend money on hotel accommodations, I said "Why haven't I heard of that? Sign me up!"..hehe..

But really... more than the monetary benefit, I love meeting people.
When I travel, I cherish not the pictures but the people I meet,
the ones who become my friends..
And not just ordinary friends but
the kind that you give a warm hug just 'coz you mean it kind-of-friends.
I believe everyone has a story to tell,
a story I can learn from if I take the time to listen.
I look on the trips that I've had and I smile
whenever I remember the people I met, the stories I heard...
and not so much the ice cream that made my stomach churn
on an 8 hour bus ride to Phnom Penh.
That made a lasting memory, though, not a very good one.

兴趣

I love a lot of things(music, travel, talking, arts, food), though they don't love me back as much(sports... I do try... still trying).

音乐、电影和书籍

Music: big band era music, rap, arrangements with amazing drum build up, anything with ethnic beats... I inexplicably cried when Playing for Change just came out with their first video. Something about the world coming together harmoniously just.. just.. I have no words for it.

Movies & Books: Let's just say I'd rather watch the movie version than read the book. But if I have the need to, I do pick up a book from time to time... I'm not saying I finished everyone of them but I do try. Movies - a good story would make a movie for me, but I sneak in a brainless comedy from time to time. And oh... period films, I have probably seen every film version of Pride & Prejudice.. not probably, most definitely.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Taught a topic on hope to a group of older men in Camdodia(survivors of Polpot regime) and ended up spending the night in the middle of a farm in the middle of Takeo, swarmed by the tiniest frogs I have ever seen in my life... we thought they were huge flies. That was how small they were! And they were everywhere! But we survived!
