Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've had lots of couchsurfers to stay but our kids officially hosted them so they could go travelling and meet other couchsurfers around the world. We love having people to stay - from anywhere in the world!

Interests

I love to read and write (I'm an author) and to spend time with good friends and family. Travel is a favourite but so is sitting by the fire or working in the garden. Good food, good friends and beautiful places make life worthwhile. I am currently working towards my black belt in karate and use bike riding, walking, kata and push-ups to train.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driving through Turkey in the dark with my husband and children and finding a lone hotel whose host put on the most incredible impromptu meal. We were the only guests and when we woke up the next morning and pulled back the curtains there was the Aegean Sea sparkling in the sun and the island of Lesbos in the distance!
Dancing with the Oro people around a huge bonfire in the mountains in Papua New Guinea. The kundu drums were hypnotic.
Riding through the desert in Bahrain on mountain bikes. The light in the desert is unlike light anywhere else!
Climbing a huge sand dune in the Wahiba sands in Oman and looking out across the vast red sand sea.
Summer at Jan Juc Beach just twenty minutes from home. A whole day on the beach with my family, a picnic and a good book. Heaven!
