I am currently trying to see as much of the world as possible and hopefully meet some interesting people along the way!

ABOUT ME

I left Australia in May 2008 in a bid to put off entering the real world for a little while yet.... Having spent 4 months in West Africa I ended up in France where I am living and working and trying to see as much of Europe as possible! I'm pretty laid back and easy to get along with and I love meeting and speaking to new people. I've now been in Europe for almost 2.5 years and have worked as a tour guide in Paris, managed boats in Croatia and have recently moved to Amsterdam where I am, once again, working as a tour guide.

PHILOSOPHY

One of the reasons that I travel is that I don't want to lead a grey, colourless life... I love seeing and experiencing new things and at the moment that means I'm fairly nomadic!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately I don't have a couch to offer at the moment as I'm living in a tiny room in a family house. One day when I actually have a place to call my own I'd love to host people though.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All of my couchsurfing experiences have been fantastic so far. I love meeting new people and having a local who is eager to tell you all about their city makes for a wonderful travel experience.

My interests are fairly eclectic... I read voraciously, play sport (Australian Rules Football for the last 6 years but I've recently replaced it with running, swimming and gaelic football), ride a motorcycle and love to travel and meet new people!

I love reading and will read pretty much anything with words on it- I've been known to read shampoo bottles in the shower.... As far as favourite books go, well it's hard to narrow it down, in the past year I have loved Atonement, The Kite Runner and People of the Book and I have a weakness for children's books..... My favourite movies include Life is Beautiful, Little Miss Sunshine, The Princess Bride and the Sound of Music (yes I KNOW it's very uncool.....)

I took a 4WD truck from Gao to Timbuktu through the Sahara in the middle of the night! It took us 17 hours to get there and I shared the back of the ute with 13 local men! Talk about an experience! I then backed this up by taking a boat from Timbuktu to Mopti that was smuggling illegal petrol they had brought in from Algeria!

I guess what I know the most about at the moment is travel- if you're interested in life in West Africa, Australia, France or Croatia then I'm your person! I have wide interests though and will happily converse on just about any subject.
