ABOUT ME

Hi :-) My name is Jena. I am 46 and live in St. Michaels, MD. I have 2 grown boys (21 & 24) who flew the coop a while ago. I own 1 business and am in the process of starting a second one. The first one is called I Sit, You Go (www.isityougo.com). This business is a house and pet sitting service. I started it in 2012 and love it. I actually stay in people's homes while they are away, so I don't technically have a house that I live in. I stay with my sister when I'm in-between house sits. The business that I am in the process of starting with my sister is called Helping Hands Errand Service. That business I think is pretty self explanatory from the title :-) I'm pretty laid back and open minded. I'm really looking forward to meeting like minded people and making some new friends :-)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to travel and have realized that even though I have driven through many states I have never had the time to just stop and explore a little. So this year I want to spend some time checking out new places and locations. Of course money is always an issue and I just the love the idea of Couch Surfing. I rented a room for a year and a half through AirBnB about 4 years ago and just loved meeting all the people who came through my door. I feel like Couch Surfing has the same kind of vibe. Because of my house sitting business and staying in other people's homes I don't have a couch to reciprocate with. HOWEVER I'm very happy to barter and help out in general. I'm a house sitter and pet sitter so of course I'm always happy to help with house sitting and helping with pets. But I can clean and run errands (remember I'm starting an errand running service ;-)?) Or any other thing I can do to help out!!

Well obviously I'm very interested in traveling!  Some of my other interests include beaches, museums, exploring country roads, photography, scrapbooking, karaoke and shopping of course. I'm a huge reader and and a horribly addicted TV fiend. I am watching in excess of 15 series right now. It's just horrible!!

I like a very wide variety of music - from country to indie.  Books I mostly like fantasy.  Movies I like chick flicks (go figure!), fantasy, romance....well, let's just say there really isn't any kind of movie that I don't like!

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

One of my favorite memories was watching the whales diving in and out of rough waters on a whale watching trip in Cape Cod, MA. I'm just beginning my traveling so I hope to see many more amazing things......but I've seen a lot of beautiful sunsets, dolphins dancing in the water and climbed at least one pyramid!

As I mentioned above, since I don't have a couch to reciprocate with on this site at this time I am really happy to help out in anyway I can to at least repay my host if not actually participate in the spirit of this site. I have a house and pet sitting business, so obviously I have experience with those things. I am also in the process of starting an errand running service and so of course I'm always willing to do those kinds of things as well ;-) Also, in my past life I was an administrative assistant and a virtual assistant, so if you have any small thing you need done in your home office (filing, spreadsheet, organizing etc) I can help with that too.
