About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To help the world and its people awaken to their true power and to green the planet with as much help from my fellow humans as possible.

ABOUT ME

I’m an emotional explorer, a sensuality seeker, and a risk taker who loves breaking through my own limitations to embrace excitement and joy for living. I'm also a crazy veg growing rebel gardener with an inclusive community gardening project that I have initiated, inspired in part, by the Ubuntu contributionist movement which fits in so perfectly with Couchsurfing. If you are staying with me, I wonder if I could ask you to bring just one bag of dried food of some description: perhaps rice, lentils, peas, beans, nuts, dried fruit, herbs, spices. Just a small contribution to feeding myself and my guests.

I have hosted many times and visited just a few times but all experiences positive.

PHILOSOPHY

Take responsibility for everything you feel, and experience. It is only by realising your own power can you change anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted many individuals so far. My house is small but I can stretch to a night or two for someone on a mattress on the living room floor, but often I also host airbnb guests and I'm afraid they get first pickings as I'm in need of the money.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted some wonderful guests. I've enjoyed the exchange of ideas, thoughts and discussion in the evenings. Some have stopped over en route to somewhere else as I'm a 25 min bus ride from Stansted. Others have stayed with me while working during the day somewhere. I work from home, so please respect that during the day I may not be very communicative. However, if you're up for a spot of gardening at any stage, I'd be very happy to give you a trowel and get you started in the garden!

Interests

Spirituality. I've practiced Buddhism since I was 19 which is longer than I haven't practiced it! It is my foundation for life. It has seen me through many transformations and I am humbled to have found my truth in buddhism.

I love dancing and have been a life long dancer starting with ballet, then ballroom and latin, then salsa, modern jive, and now blues dancing. It moves me emotionally and spiritually, keeps me physically healthy and I could not survive without it. I'm also a teacher of blues dancing.

My life's passion really, is teaching. I've taught languages, self help classes, personal development, hypnosis, trained my colleagues, taught dancing. Where there is a need for something to be taught, you'll find me learning what it takes to teach it.

I also love Growing my own food, namely, Vegetables and fruit. I'm not quite vegetarian but during the summer months I eat practically a vegetarian diet and in the winter I tend to eat small amounts of meat. Growing my own food has made me think about where my food comes from a lot more and what types of food I'm prepared to put in my body.

I also love leading my transformational workshops. When you love what you do, it isn't work at all. It's just another facet to my character that earns me my living.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I gave birth to the most amazing daughter in the world! That's the most amazing thing I've done.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach? Happiness, community, acceptance. Learn? To get to know people and develop my global network. Share? Share common humanity.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have an open hearted philosophy that is very simple. I don't do complications. Life for me is simple. The older I get the more straightforward I become. Gone are the paranoias of youth and the second guessing of other people's thoughts. I am clear and open and direct, but in a compassionate and caring way. I can share my thoughts and inspiration with you on life and perhaps I'll be able to offer you that sentence that will point you in a new direction.

If you can't get hold of me this summer (2017) I apologise. I am so busy myself travelling and being out it is difficult to fit guests in. Where I can I will try.
