ABOUT ME
First and foremost, I am a musician. Music speaks to me in a way no other activity ever has. I play the violin, and although I was studying at a top-notch music school, the academic rigamoroo was weighing me down. So here I am, wondering the streets of Berlin in a somewhat logical fashion looking for a place to live for the next six months. If possible, I want to play some jazz gigs in the city, but nothing like the restrictive stucture of music school. After music, interesting people are by far my second favorite interest (and then comes food!). I have also recently picked up photography, and Berlin is wonderland for a blooming shutterbug like me. I love black and white, but Berlin is such a colorful city that you really need the color to convey the essence of its energy. I may be classically trained in the violin, but that in no way means I don't find myself watching the sun come up, walking out of a club burried in an back alleyway somewhere in a Europe.
PHILOSOPHY
When a place has a certain feel, a certain history, and a particular piece of music embellishes that feeling, something miraculous happens. Your surroundings have everything to do with what you're playing, and you feel an energy that is suddenly so real it takes on a new form. Without it, the moment would not be complete. I'm all about the total effect. You have to be able to feel it, to touch it, to taste it for yourself in order to be able to transend it.
Sponteneity doesn't lie. You shouldn't doubt it. If you want to do it, there's a damn good reason why you want to. If you take care of your wildest dreams, the neccesities will take care of themselves. Your impulses don't lie, and neither does your creativity. They just need a space to survive.

Music, Movies, and Books
I just hate sloppy, un-creative, overdone, emotionaless, trite bullshit. And grungy music trying to act cool pisses me off even more. For all the rest, I absolutely adore it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Played Shostakovich's Courten No. 8 in a church in the Czeck Repulblic which once served as a KGB headquarters. The bulletholes on the wall, the musty smell of almost forgotten history, and the raspy wail of my quartet seared itself into my memory in such a way that I could never forget.
