I like to meet people from around the world to share knowledge, experiences and learn. There is always more to learn from the people that come in to your life no matter how short the visit.

ABOUT ME

Travel is a way of life for me and I love it. Not just for the amazing culture and all the new things such as food music and traditions but for the people that you meet along the way. The other travellers that you can share your stories with or help finding their way around your town. The locals that open their world to you and allow you to see some of it.

I spent several years Tour Director as I love travel so much and even more so helping people travel and make the most of it. I worked in Europe for 5 years and last year returned to Canada to show people through the Rockies which are amazing. I love what I do and that I am able to enjoy it as much as the people I take on tours.

I value my family and my friends which many times are one in the same. I enjoy meeting new people all the time from anywhere in the world. There is no where in the world that I do not want to see.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have used couch surfing and it is great to get to know people and meet locals that can show you around. Everyone knows that a local is your best asset when visiting an unknown place. I think it is great that there is something like this with people that want to help other people which I hope someone can help me and I will return the favour.

I have met with people for coffee and stayed with a friend in London before starting my current job.I have also stayed with people while on layover in DC who have been wonderful

Interests

One of my favorite things is food, really good food, wine and conversation is a great way to spend any evening whether with old or new friends. I am somewhat of an eco-tourist as the beauty of nature amazes me more than anything. I like the outdoors, water sports and hiking.
I enjoy all types of music, theater, movies, books, travelling as much and to as many places as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: It is too hard to choose just a few movies as there are so many that are great. Depends on the mood, weather and what is out. I could list for days.

Music: Dammien Rice, Ani DiFranco, The Be Good Tanyas, Tool, NIN, Matisyahu, David Myles and the list goes on...I love talking music and always looking for more.

Books: Ishmeal by Daniel Quinn (everyone should read it) that is the one that I feel has had a huge influence on myself and anyone that reads it. But I do feel it is important to always be reading something.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have moved and lived in different parts of the world away from my family and alone. It was a challenging time and in the end it was an amazing experience. I was working in these places and so there was so much to learn and no one to help me. I gave it a fair try every time though it would have been easier to walk away it meant more and I learned more by sticking through it.I believe that we are all in a state of learning and there is so much I want to know about everywhere in the world and every culture.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook, good conversation, sharing music interest. I also have traveled a lot and so I can offer great advice for working in the travel industry or how to travel on your own.
