About Me
Hi, my name is Jan and I originally come from Czech Republic. I like travelling and meeting new people from all around the world. I have spent almost 3 years in New Zealand and now I'm back in Czech, more precisely in Vysocina region (rougly just in between Prague and Brno). I take it as my base to do either shorter or longer trips. 2018 was a fruitful year so far, I explored South America, Northern India and now on a road trip around Balkan.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I haven't been couchsurfing recently to be honest. The idea of couchsurfing has changed dramatically as many people joined just to have a free bed. The idea is however much broader. From my past experience it's more about getting to know the locals, and sometimes even make great friends.
I have surfed a bit and hosted some people as well in the past.
Hosted so far:
Nathalie and Amaury (6/2013, France)
Anneleen and Evelien (7/2013, Belgium)
Melissa (7/2013, Canada)
Dominika (11/2014, Czech Republic)
David and Martina (1/2016, Czech Republic)
Zdenek and Jan (2/2016, Czech Republic)

Music, Movies, and Books
I like movies a lot, mainly dramas. Monsters' ball, Things we lost in Fire, 21 grams. I also like to watch TV series like Big Bang Theory, How I met your mother and others. One of my favourites is a British one - How not to live your life.
I like many different kinds of music, my favourites bands are - Nigthwish (with Tarja Turunen), Coldplay, Nirvana, from solo artists Pink and the fabulous diva Beyonce. If you read my profile thoroughly, try to watch any video on youtube of best CZ group Krystof.
I don´t read too much as I am a slow reader :) Last book I read was Kevin Mitnick's The Art of Deception. Contains both, technical advices and interesting stories.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2016 I gave up my job in New Zealand to travel the world. I spent amazing 4 months travelling around NZ, Australia and Asia. I also decided to hike the Camino Portugues from Lisbon to Santiago de Compostela. An amazing month-long hike of 750km in total.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can talk about my travel experience (by end of 2018 I plan to round the number of visited countries up to 40), life in beautiful New Zealand, etc. I can definitely share my good mood and humor as well :)
