Overview
About Me
I'm almost finished with this whole college business and then...? Good question.
Let's talk about all of my travel 'firsts' since high school some time. Good stories there!
I'm studying theatre. So I guess that makes me a theatre major! (At Truman State)
I have two incredible parents, one sister/best-friend, one too-cool brother-in-law, and one little, soon-to-be-born nephew. Oh. And a cat and a dog--both to whom, I am slightly allergic.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Turn up! My sister joined this sight before her and her husband backpacked across Europe back in 2012, but they didn't end up using the sight. When researching accommodations recently, I was reminded of it! ...this online network of awesome people, just waiting to broaden their horizons. TOO. COOL.
Right now, I cannot host (I'm home staying with my parents for the summer). But post college? It sounds great!
Interests
There are only about 7 things in this world that I hate. Because pretty much everything else is awesome. (Don't worry. This list has to do with breaking bones and writing papers.)
A few things I particularly prefer over the rest of this awesome world:
The OUTDOORS!*
LEARNING. About any and everything.**
The STARS. (and sunrises) are probs my favorite parts of Creation. Oh yeah. And the clouds. Legitimately EVERYTHING about the sky. If we ever meet outdoors, I'll most likely be pointing out the clouds/sky several times a day.
My family and friends, of course!
Making people laugh! (And laughing myself)
SINGING. Yes please.
*I've actually only been camping once, which is actually hilarious, but I am all about that hiking (when I get a chance). I am not an expert in outdoorsie activities (as in, mountain biking across the Rockies or rock climbing El Capitan). However, being out in Creation, experiencing the world and letting it change you... I can think of few better ways to spend one's time.
**Sincerely, though. Traveling is incredible and I desire to keep doing so. But actually learning in the classroom about new things excites me in so many ways. Macroeconomics? Yes please. Differential equations? Okay! The microscopic inter-workings of the rough endoplasmic reticulum in a plant cell? Sign me up. The ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia? Keep it coming. Literature? Let's read and talk about it all day. However, writing papers?? NOPE. (see first paragraph in this section)

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: let's talk about it face to face some time!(The theatre person inside of me wants to move to L.A. and be in movies! Until then, I'll just watch them. All of them. Except the scary ones. No, ma'am.)
Music: Tenth Avenue North and Rend Collective. Look 'em up.
I also enjoy/will listen to just about anything with you that doesn't include profanity or perverted speech. And Disney, duh. And Musicals. Lots of musicals. #theatremajor
Books: mmm... something mainstream and cliche? The Maze Runner series.
I enjoy reading when I get the chance! Anything from "Drums Along the Mohawk" and "Grapes of Wrath" to Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird" and Mark Twain's "Huck Finn". ...actually anything we read in high school besides "In Cold Blood." I know you were bffs with Harper, but no thank you, Truman.
With my studies now, I don't read much of anything these days apart from plays. Lots and lots of scripts of plays.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed the Great Wall.
Teach, Learn, Share
Something to Teach: The famous Australian actor Tom Burlinson ("The Man From Snowy River") does Sinatra impersonations on stage nowadays.
Something to Learn: I want to learn how to play chess. Smart people play. I want to, too.
Something to Share: Whenever I was in Alaska, I may or may not have crushed on our river raft tour guide.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Things I can offer you:
An endless supply of delightfully punny jokes.
One embarrassing (and often funny) story after another of places I've been, things I've done, people I've met, and predicaments in which I have found myself.
A detailed description of what it is to live in Asia for a summer, and what I learned there.
The only song I know on the harmonica so far.
The only song I know on the piano so far.
Great game ideas for large groups of people.
The few Chinese phrases (and three partial songs) I know.
Singing. I'm not trained, I'm not professional. But with your 'okay', your showerhead will be thoroughly entertained. I am also fond of duets. ;)
