Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live passionately and purposefully
ABOUT ME
I am currently living in Manchester (my home town) and training as a nurse
I completed my first degree in Cultural studies which I loved http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_studies, and which prompted me (and continues to do so) to learn more about the world and its contradictions.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to listen to my intuition, and try my best not to force things in life. Fate, or something like it I feel will inevitably run its course!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I used to be much more active in couchsurfing when I joined many years ago now! But as they say life gets in the way.. I've had a great experience surfing mostly in the US on my international exchange placement and hosted a little in Manchester. I intend to host more once I finally finish studying and get my own place!
I think the CS concept is has been a breakthrough in terms of offering travellers an alternative to conventional tourism. Couchsurfing gives us the opportunity to engage with the place that we visit, rather than just 'viewing' it from an outsider perspective..
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
By couchsurfing upon my arrival in (freezing cold) Chicago in January 2011 I made a host of really great friends that I then got to hang out with the rest of my (5 month) stay in the city. Without CS I may never have met these people which would have been a great shame!
Interests
Friends, family, reading, music, travelling of course, cooking, nature.
I danced a little salsa/kizomba/bachata whilst living in London but seem to have let it slip since moving back up North...Any salsa/ kizomba fans staying in Manchester don’t hesitate to get in touch!
I love meeting travellers and learning about their country and culture, it's great to explore my own city too with people to whom it is completely new!
I am always interested in meeting new people in Manchester whether you are travelling or, like me, have lived here for years. Just send me a message :)
