Overview
About Me
I've had a lot of unusual jobs including (but not limited to): birth doula, pole dance instructor, Airbnb host (check it out: https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/9579236), chocolatier, hair model, Vegas showgirl (the kind that just smiles & looks pretty in pictures with tourists), and satirical columnist.
I relocated to Las Vegas from West LA a year ago.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Airbnb.com originally had an awesome community but I felt that my experience deteriorated over time. I'd like to tap into true sharing communities and continue to feel like I'm stepping out of my bubble, the way being an Airbnb host did.
I plan to host myself once I've moved into a larger home, hopefully in the next month or so.
Interests
Pole dancing, aerial (lyra, trapeze, silks, hammock), cooking things, eating things, drinking all the (specialty) coffee, (dark) beer, other types of boozey things, speakeasy style bars, making friends, being outdoors, hiking, gardening, cycling, reading stuff, writing stuff, my kitties, karaoke, trying to stay low-carb, eating cupcakes, and maybe like one or 28 other things I'm forgetting about...

Books: The Little Prince, The Frailty Myth & American Gods (Disclaimer: They have nothing to do with each other than the fact that I'm not done reading either of them but...THEY ARE SO GOOD. So they still count as favorites.), The World According to Garp, Hyperbole and a Half, and anything by Mo Willems, Maurice Sendack, Edgar Allen Poe or Shel Silverstein...which one of these things doesn't belong with the otherssss..? (I totally read Poe as a small child, so there)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Allowed my nephews to swear around me. Just kidding. Kind of.
Uh, I got second place in a pole competition...is that amazing? I don't know... Actually, nevermind.
Remained (increasingly) positive through all of life's curveballs and turned them into growth opportunities - how's that?

What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories! My pole skills, if you have a pole, or if I bring one with me. Flexibility training. I don't mind cooking for you if you don't mind throwing in a little for the cost of the groceries (I'm basically a starving artist). And, someday, a couch or a room in my place!
