I'm outgoing, funny, down to earth, personable, sarcastic, helpful, protective, big dork, movie quoter, volleyball lover(especially sand!) outdoorsy, I love hiking and backpacking, I'm a fish I love being in lakes, rivers and the ocean I'm born and raised in California and have never attempted surfing here..2016 goal

PHILOSOPHY

I like to live by the Golden Rule; Treat others the way you want to be treated. No I'm not religious but I respect everybody's views. I also like to live without regret and learn lessons from any mistakes I've made.

I've CS-ed all over Eastern Australia and New Zealand. I'm lucky to remain close friends with previous hosts and I hope to host here in CA soon :)

Intereses

Hiking with friends or alone, working with kids, love coaching volleyball, playing sand doubles, spending time with family and friends, taking pictures of my amazing surroundings while I'm out backpacking, any water activities, climbing. I mostly spend my time working, hanging with my friends, exercising, and I love to eat!

Música, películas y libros

Books: Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, The Way of the Peaceful Warrior series by Dan Millman, really made me look at life in a new way. Movies: I love funny movies but one of my random favorite movies is Benjamin Button. There are so many lessons to learn from your elders and I love how that movie shows a person's journey from that perspective. Music: listen to a lot of different music. I generally space out on dance music at work but when I'm chillin I like some CCR, blues rock, soul, funk, etc

All California spots, and no I can't just pick one-
Watching the coastal fog blanket the sea as the sun was setting off the pacific coast highway south of Big Sur, California. The fog engulfed the mountains about halfway up so it looked like a lake of clouds. We parked the truck above the fog line and sat in the back, the sun going down in front of us and the full moon coming up behind us soon after.

Sitting on the banks of a mini lake in Yosemite's backcountry during a thunderstorm. We backpacked in the night before and after breakfast the small drizzle began to come down and the thunder followed. The valley a few miles away made the huge booms even more amplified and it made me feel so small but connected to everything going on around me. It was such a peaceful moment sitting there alone watching the aquatic creatures interacting in their own world and the mama duck swimming on the surface with her babies.

Full moon paddling on Lake Tahoe the summer I lived there. It was such a crazy feeling to be paddling around at night with the moon illuminating the water. Lake Tahoe is one of the deepest in North America so I couldn't get over that feeling of sitting right on top of the water wondering about the world below me.

I coach volleyball. I hope to learn more Portuguese. I share stories, and snacks sometimes :) I'm so open to learning anything and everything, especially about everyone's awesome travel experiences.
