ABOUT ME

I teach middle school and yes, my kids are turds, but every day I get out of bed thrilled that I get to be part of their lives. I live in an amazing place where you can see fields of indigenous flowers and trees, rocky paths lined with succulents, snow-covered peaks with great skiing, plains of grazing antelope, and jagged chunks of red earth piercing the horizon all stretched below the most amazing blue sky that can turn to thunderstorms in the blink of an eye (I've only been here 3 years so I'm still in awe of it all). I'm lucky enough to have attracted some pretty incredible friends who put up with far too much from me. I like biking and hiking and dancing and playing poker, I love scuba and just swimming and pretty much anything that lets me feel the world around me. By the way, if you pass through in the winter try to make it over a weekend, my roomie and I hit the slopes all season long!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that because you only live once, each and every second, every breath, is invaluable and yours alone. So don't sweat the small stuff, learn from everything, and enjoy all of it kuz you've only got one chance to live this moment, you'll never get it back or get a do-over.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A couple people have crashed at my place but I have yet to surf myself.

兴趣

Walking around with my eyes open. I love those unplanned, unexpected sights and those planned destinations, and I have a million things I'm interested in trying. I SCUBA dive, hike, ski, board, camp, paintball, climb, coach, and do lots of dorky teacher stuff.

Any book by Ayn Rand is great, as well as historic literature, prefer non-fiction but will read fiction when I'm out of books I like.

Where I live it usually snows at night in the winter, and in the morning the sun warms the streets but the lawns and trees are still covered in a thin blanket of snow that makes the whole world seem to have been dusted in diamonds, and your breath steams before you in the sunlight. I love those mornings.

When you travel and are learning those little phrases "where is the bathroom" and such, always remember to learn "this is delicious" and "this is beautiful" - you never want to miss an opportunity to show appreciation.
