Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see and do as much as possible in one lifetime.
ABOUT ME
I love to travel and am currently on an approximately year-long around-the-world trip. So far I have been to South Korea, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Malaysia. Up next is Australia and hopefully New Zealand.
When I'm not traveling I work in non-fiction TV production in New York City. I've worked on shows for PBS, The Travel Channel and HGTV.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to live my life to the fullest and not take myself too seriously. That's still a work in progress, but when something happens that feels like the end of the world at the time, I try to put it in perspective by telling myself, "It's only life."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted about half a dozen couch surfers so far and plan to host more once I get back to the States. Now that I have started traveling I have surfed on a few couches in Hong Kong (great experiences) and hope to surf even more as I make my way through Australia, the Middle East, Africa and South America.
My reply percentage is really low right now because I got very busy with work and planning my trip right before I left and neglected my couch surfing responsibilities just a bit. You also get A LOT of requests when you live in a big city like NYC. I promise I'm not a bad person! (haha) I will make a concerted effort to reply to all requests once my couch is available again in about 9 months.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted a number of people for a few days at a time. Everyone that I have hosted has been very courteous and gracious. I have enjoyed meeting people who have common interests and experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
Now that I'm traveling I'm trying to read books and watch movies about the places I'm going. Here are my current picks:
China/Hong Kong: "The Last Eunuch of China," "Love in a Fallen City"
Cambodia/Vietnam: "First They Killed My Father" (so sad)
Thailand: "The Beach" (movie version), "Hangover II"... haha-two quality choices right there
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've run two marathons--one in New Jersey and one in New York City, where I currently live. Crossing the finish line in Central Park at the end of the NYC Marathon this November was an awesome experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love learning new languages--I had a double major in Spanish in college, but I also want to learn French and Korean at a bare minimum.
