I'm a down to earth, curious gal from one of the coldest cities in Canada. There's a saying, "the coldest places have the warmest people." I believe that entirely.

I'm in the beginning stages of planning a trip to NYC. I'm currently a full-time journalism student who will be graduating in June. I value authentic human connection, getting out of my comfort zone, and trying new things. I'm sure I'll hit up some big touristy places, but I'm happy to just wander the streets of New York and let the chips fall where they may.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What can I say? I'm a broke millennial college student. But, also, I'm a solo traveler and think CS is a great way to connect with locals. I know CS is "free" but I'm not a messy gal, and I'm happy to contribute to household chores while I'm around.

Interests

I love long-form journalism, especially investigative journalism. I'm a rookie photographer and rookie videographer. I love all things visual. I like talking to strangers and hearing their stories. I also really, really, really love dogs. I would cross the street just to pet one.

My favourite book is The Little Prince. Yeah, yeah, it's a "children's book." But I think there's a lot to take away from it as an adult, too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I haven't jumped out of a plane (yet) or anything, but I've survived every single adversity life has thrown my way. And that's pretty badass. Also, I did stand-up comedy once to a sold out crowd - and people actually laughed.
