ABOUT ME

I'm a recent graduate of a specialized environmental science college in NY where I discovered my love for birds. I'm interested in studying or monitoring them as a career, but currently, I'm working on seasonal jobs that allow me to study different species and travel at the same time.

I'm usually pretty easy to pick out of a group: I'm the cute, short, Chinese-American girl that laughs & smiles all the time (that is supposing that you're not looking at a group of short Chinese girls - I'd be the one not wearing makeup). You would hardly see me without a smile on my face and a bubbly attitude to go with it. I'm really laid back and down for whatever, I'm open to any suggestions. I love meeting new people and learning about different backgrounds. I'm very open-minded and am usually interested in listening more than talking. I like to hear the opinions of others and get different points of views especially before making decisions or conclusions of my own.

At 22, I haven't had any opportunity to travel until now. I have been able to see parts of the US & China but not extensively. Australia & NZ, where I am currently traveling, will be the first backpacking experience in my life and I'm very excited to get it going!!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in living life to the fullest and not closing any doors that may lead to something great in the future. I believe in respecting others and not causing or continuing unnecessary conflicts that are detrimental to relationships. I'm a realistic optimist who thinks rationally & logically and assesses situations thoroughly before taking any steps.

Currently, I'm mainly interested in surfing. I'm traveling New Zealand right now & would love to meet some more amazing & friendly Kiwis!

I'm a pretty avid birdwatcher; I love seeing what birds are around whereever I am. I enjoy hiking & exploring natural areas as well as appreciating all the wildlife associated with them.

I love listening to live music and jam sessions. Sadly, I'm not talented enough to participate in them but I am a self-taught amateur pianist. Music is definitely my therapy.

I lived out of a tent without running water or electricity on a 7-acre seabird colony with over 7000 birds. =)
