Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm a Canadian backpacker working completely remotely as a freelance scientific editor and writer.
I'm considerate, respectful, open-minded, talkative, curious, optimistic, and have a good sense of humour!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here to connect with interesting, friendly people during my solo travels. I'm always motivated to learn about new cultures (especially those that are very different from my own), and in my experience, spending quality time with locals is always the best way to gain insight into the culture. I'm active and more on the spontaneous side when visiting a new place. Although I’ll research a country and have a few key things in mind beforehand, I don't like to have a fixed agenda. I’d rather wander around (especially by walking) and take in the atmosphere instead of running around on a hectic mission to cross items off an itinerary. Checking out the local markets and cool cafés and admiring the street art are usually at the top of my list when visiting new cities, and adventurous activities like trekking in the mountains or jungle is my preference when I venture off the beaten path. I’m also open to having a travel companion to wander around with.
Interests
Aside from travelling and meeting new people, my passions include reading, writing, Muay Thai, trekking, bouldering, climbing, and cooking/plant-based nutrition.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all different kinds of music, from indie and Latin to gangster rap. As for movies, I'm a big fan of dark comedies and quirky indie flicks. I read both fiction and nonfiction.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my favourite travel experiences involved a 35-hour bus ride to Skardu, Pakistan, from Lahore in October 2019. Sounds gruelling, but it was amazing! I teamed up with a Lahori local to trek to Mashabrum base camp, starting from the mountain village of Hushe. We were so excited for the trek that the 35 hours on the cramped minibus melted away! I also had a pro Muay Thai fight in Chiang Mai, Thailand, this year, something that had been on my bucket list for a while ✅.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A very nice AeroPress coffee. Could also show you some Muay Thai moves, if you’re keen!
