Overview
About Me
After two years living/traveling in Asia, I took a job as a reporter at a local paper at a small town in Southeast Alaska.
I used Couchsurfing exclusively throughout six months in India, and even hosted in my apartment in Seoul, where I worked as an English teacher for a year.
I'm a passionate traveler who enjoys both the introverted, reflective part of travel just as much as I throw myself at the extroverted, by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of exploration. I love the outrageous; in the year I lived in Seoul, I hitch-hiked to Daecheon Beach, rode a bicycle across the country from Seoul to Busan, and spent a night partying on a floating island.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a (sometimes) solo traveler, it's important to me to genuinely engage with the culture that I'm visiting. I think Couchsurfing is the most resourceful way to do this, as the best way to see a new place is through local eyes. Of course, I also believe in "paying it forward," and I think Couchsurfing is a cool embodiment of this practice.
