About Me

Hello! こんにちは!Hola!
You can call me Li Jen (Mandarin)/ Jenna (English).
Born and raised in southern Taiwan, I have a sunny personality and like to make friends from around the world.

Before meeting up, please read my profile and chat with me so I can know more about you. Attention to details means you care. Thank you.

I just moved to Melbourne at the end of last August. Before that, I'd been working as an after-school teacher for three years; now with a new life started, I'm on an adventure again. It takes a lot of courage to do it, leaving almost everything behind. But I know encounters with different lives will inspire me and help personal growth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To create meaningful connections with people and have encounters with beautiful souls around the world that inspire lives. To collect stories from different places. To embrace the diversity and love of the world.

"Become friends with people who aren’t your age. Hang out with people whose first language isn’t the same as yours. Get to know someone who doesn’t come from your social class. This is how you see the world. This is how you grow."

To embrace the world, the most important thing is learn to trust. Trust in love; trust in humanity. Mother Teresa said “Many think the opposite of love is hate, but the opposite of love is really indifference.” And “The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved.” Why I’m on Couchsurfing? As years go by, I realize I don’t want to be an indifferent person just because the world is broken or humanity is broken. I want to be a loving person. So I will try to trust, care and share as possible as I can to connect with you my friends.

Interests

I used to make artworks as a child. Cards, small houses and posters... etc. Now I think cooking is my artwork. :) I love to see how different ingredients put together can create amazing tastes in the end. And one of the happiness in my life is to cook for my friends and family.

Life without music would be very boring to me. I've kept music active most in my life by attending choirs or bands. My two sisters and I have started a band called "313" since 2013. We learned music mostly by ourselves. I'm very lucky to have them in my life.

I like reading, self-growth books and picture books especially.

When I was little, my parents often took us to the sea and the mountains. I think that's why I prefer natural places when traveling.
I like cycling, hiking, playing badminton... now I'm trying to learn how to swim.
