About Me
ABOUT ME
I used to think I hated children until I started working with the wee ones, and now I love them. People think that a preschool teacher is a glorified babysitter, but it's much more than that, and it can be very challenging and at the same time very rewarding. So, yup, I teach tiny humans in Bangkok, Thailand.
I work full time and have a full time course load, so lately my time has been consumed by both obligations.
I'm a social drinker, non-smoker, meat-eater, but trying to change that last one.
About verification: I can't get verified because my billing address is in Canada at my grandparent's house, and I live in Thailand. The form won't let me choose a different billing country than my shipping country. grrr!
PHILOSOPHY
"The world is an open book and those who do not travel read only one page.." is that how it goes? Well, that's my take on life. There are so many things to experience through travel, and if I don't take advantage of the opportunities I have to travel, I am not living my life to the fullest.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Sadly, I haven't yet been a host. I live in a one bedroom apartment with a roommate and the total space is 31metres square including the balcony, closet, and toilet, so I don't really have the space at the moment. Instead I have offered to take people out and show them around.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had three hosts, but one was a host before I was actually on couchsurfing. All experiences were wonderful. I got to learn a lot about the culture, religion, and politics of the places I stayed, as well as meet some incredibly kind people, that I hope I will be friends with forever.
Interests
I love learning new things, especially languages and recipes. I have so many language learning books from places that I've visited, but have yet to master any of them.
When I have free time, I like to go to markets, art galleries, or sight-seeing places.
Travelling is my favourite past time, and if I didn't need money to do it, I would spend my life traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books
Don't judge me too much based on my taste in movies or books! Fav movies: Lost in Translation, Fire, Happenstance, Requiem for a Dream, 50 days of Summer, Hotel Rawanda, Grand Torino, Thirteen, and many many more.
Books: Anything by Haruki Murakami or Paulo Coelho. Steig Larsson's "Milenium Trilogy" was amazing.. still hoping there will be a 4th book released to tie up the loose ends.
Music: I like all sorts, depends mostly on my mood at the time or the atmosphere at the time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Id have to say the most amazing thing I have ever seen is this small island called Thailana (Tailana) Island in the Banyak Islands of Indonesia. My friend and I had traveled by land then by boat from Medan to get there using only local methods of travel. The journey itself was long, hard, and exhausting, but the destination was well worth it -a little piece of paradise that I only had to share with her.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can help you with your English, if you are a non-native English speaker. I'm TESL certified and have experience teaching in Japan.
I enjoy baking and I can show you how to make some family recipes from Canada.
If you're first language isn't English, I'd love for you to teach me some words and explain how the grammar works. You can also teach me how to make some food from your country, region, or just your family's trademark dish :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a surfer, I promise to bring my hosts some strange snack and souvenirs from Thailand, you can let me know if you are looking for something specific and I will be your mule. :) I can also promise good conversation and hyena-like laughs.
