About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style"
ABOUT ME
i am a laid back, easy going person :) i love to travel and i like to think that everyday is an opportunity to learn something new! I am driven by my humanitarian convictions and hope to make positive changes throughout the world. I love yoga, meditation and believe that we all find our own path to spirituality. I am a vegetarian. I believe what you put in your body is what you get out of it, in every sense, food, trashy books, television, negative energy or conversations etc... I am a happy person and i like to try and remember that I am the only one who can control my attitude therefore I choose positivity!
PHILOSOPHY
*life is a daring adventure or it is nothing!
*Think Global, Act Local!
*This is the true joy in life - being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; being a force of nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.
*It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.
*If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain.
*The future is not a result of choices among alternative paths offered by the present, but a place that is created--created first in the mind and will, created next in activity. The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating. The paths are not to be found, but made, and the activity of making them, changes both the maker and the destination.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Durning my college years in the states my roomates and I hosted and participated in the couch surfing experience throughout our various wild and crazy adventures! I have met and made friends with members of the couch surfing community from all over the world. Everywhere from the US to Spain, France, Italia, Finland, Switerzland, the UK, Turkey, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand Australia and various countries throughout central and south america.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
most recently i couchsurfed with some crazy cool cats in las vegas while attending an academic conference... Ivan is a professional gambler as well as a professional hypnotist :) he hypnotized me for 3 and 1/2 hours, one of the craziest things I've done. Craziness included: convincing my brother's gf that i had gotten married in vegas, i was the worlds worst sex therapist and described in detail one of my best selling books: Sandpaper Secrets, i smoked 4 invisible cigarrettes and the list goes on....
Interests
hippy dippy trippy shit! the outdoors, live music, good books, yoga, my hulahoop, meeting new people! My NGO, Tias y Tios, i am a social activist and love making a postive change in peoples lives no matter how small they may seem! I love to cook! I have been a vegetarian for years... hence very important to develop skills in the kitchen! I love learning about new cultures and languages! Everyday is a school day ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
i love to read and hate to watch tv! music: funk, jam bands, bluegrass, electronic, drum and bass.... really anything i can dance too :) I see dance being used as communication between body and soul, to express what is too deep to find words for...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My twin sister and I started a nonprofit organization by the time we were 21. It's called Tias y Tios (aunts and uncles) working with latino families in the gallatin valley... Watching lifes change in front of you is a continual inspiration that each of us have the potential to make this world a better place!
