About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to save the world through environmental awareness.

ABOUT ME

I am a huge dork. I love to read, have long discussions about the universe and our role in it, and take tons of photographs. I am an occasional artist and writer, and a spiritual atheist, and i like to laugh at all of life's absurdities. I'm not afraid to run with things. I give good back massages and cook great food. i want to learn how to meditate, how to hunt my own food with a bow and arrow, and how to survive in the wilderness using my own wits. I believe in soul mates, and that positive intention attracts positive events. I believe everything happens for a reason. I am a fundamentally happy person by nature. I enjoy hanging out with a group of 4 or 5 friends yelling at a movie over getting dolled up and going out drinking at a nightclub.

PHILOSOPHY

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly.

Fear is never a good enough reason on its own not to do something.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I did a lot of surfing while i was traveling, and now that i've settled down in one location, i've been excited to offer people a place to stay!

Interests

seeing as much of the world as i can in my brief existence here, helping people be ecologically responsible, dancing my ass off whenever i hear music, climbing trees, playing the berimbau in Capoeira Angola rodas (I play the game very poorly, but I play the music decently), seeing and experiencing things that put me in awe of the wonder of the universe.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: any books by daniel quinn, jacqueline carey, or orson scott card, the book thief, the name of the wind, this is the way the world ends.... i love books. they are passages into someone elses world.

music: I like everything except country, polka, and bands where they scream too much and i can hear their vocal chords straining. I like making music the most.

Movies: Fight Club, American Beauty, American History X, Coffee & Cigarettes, the Dark Knight, Milk, The Edukators, The Princess Bride, others that aren't coming to mind right now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once had a conversation with a pack of howler monkeys in the middle of the Monteverde Cloud Forest in Costa Rica.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can do some wood carving, ceramics, charcoal sketching, and sewing. I can also teach people how to cook some delicious dishes and do some massage techniques. I am passionate about learning Taiko (japanese drumming) right now, and will hopefully someday be in a professional group performing with them. Music has the ability to turn my insides out and make me quiver with delight. I sing. I dance. I've got a story or two to share. I love to write. I have caught a fish before, and followed through on the whole process from catching to cooking.
