About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To grow, heal, understand, inspire, and have fun!

ABOUT ME

I am a very polite, sensitive, and caring person with the passion to gain experiences, wisdom, and understanding. I love learning as much as I can about life and art; this includes visual, healing, movement, martial, culinary, survival, and musical arts. I want to see the different ways other cultures and individuals view and and experience life and in the process make great friends and memories wherever I end up.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in the Golden Rule. I try to be the kindest and best person I can possibly be.

I try to encourage my mind, body, and spirit to work as one healthy and flowing system.

I want to live well and spread wellness and light wherever I go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

June 2012 - Two friends and I stopped in Ohio during a road trip and we stayed with a well-traveled couch surfer named Jake. He told us his great experiences with couch surfing and let us know the best places to visit nearby. I had the best cinnamon coffee in a beautifully artsy cafe, thanks Jake!

April 2013 - Had plans to meet up with Bayardo in Granada while I was in Nicaragua. I never made it out there but he came to meet me at the airport, bought me coffee, and chilled with me for 5 hours before my flight. He is a sweet pen pal and I look forward to hanging out with him again:)

November 2013 - I met up with Hieu in central Saigon where he treated me to coffee and we had a great chat about life, dreams, and cultural/social/individual perspectives.

Interests

Food, music, and good company are my favorite things in life. I graduated with a degree in graphic arts and photography and I am current working/volunteering on an organic farm. I enjoy the outdoors and hike when I can. I like to attend events that involve the arts and the sharing of knowledge. I love to cook and bake, and have a good sense of flavor combinations (and if you let me surf I can definitely cook for you). I try to spend my down time reading or working out if I am not out visiting friendly faces. I go to yoga, kickboxing, the gym, and recently found a meditation/reiki circle.

In college I was involved in various clubs like the International Culture Club and Social Justice League. As an advocate and activist, I volunteered my time and services to whatever good cause I could. My favorite classes involved dancing, African drums, learning about history through art, and creating visual art.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled in a van from Boston to San Fran with a friend and 3 cats. We left with $200 dollars and we managed to make it there in a month and a half thanks to the kindness of strangers at truck stops and awesome friends made along the way. I did not have the means to use couchsurfing on this trip but we still found people to crash with and even people who put us up in hotels without us asking. I had a blast, did not go hungry, and I am so glad to find out that there is so much love and generosity wherever you might end up. The trip made me believe in the law of attraction hardcore, be open to love and love will be open to you!:)
