About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To leave my "comfort zone", to become more social, to witness and be part of the synchronicity that brings like-minded individuals together.

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in a small community/village in Nova Scotia, Canada. I love to travel to and visit big cities, but I'm a country girl at heart. I love nature and feel most at home among the trees (if you know the arrested development song, "among the trees, I feel like I am really free..." you'll get a better impression of me). I never really left Nova Scotia until I was 25. I was couch surfing (not to be confused with the couch surfing project...I was being a bum and surfing my friends' couches) when my friend said, "You can't be a bum, you got to do something with your life". I took an ESL course and moved to South Korea in 2002. After my first year in Korea, I backpacked around Europe for two months. That was it...I had caught the travel bug and knew I wanted to see the rest of the world. I have been teaching in Korea ever since (saving enough money every year to take a couple of months off to travel to other countries in pursuit of life's lessons).

PHILOSOPHY

I am trying very hard to embrace the Power of Now.
Yesterday has already happened and we can't change the past.
We have no way of knowing what tomorrow will bring.
All we have is this present moment, all we have is NOW.
Live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment while you're in the moment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to the CS Project. I will have to fill this section out after a few months.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am going to China in a few days to witness the longest solar eclipse of the century. This will be my first couch surfing experience with the CS Project. How cool is that?

Interests

I like to play. I am a seven year old trapped in a thirty-two year old body. I like to blow bubbles, spin myself dizzy, ride my bicycle with no hands, stand on my head, hang upside down, dance, skip, discover new bugs/critters, and play dress-up. I enjoy any outdoor activity in any weather condition (although I hate being cold). I like camping, playing in the rain, snowboarding, swimming, hiking, rock-climbing, and yoga.
Aside from having fun and being outdoors, I'm interested in comparative religion and spirituality. I love reading uplifting/enlightening books. And I love talking to people who strongly believe in ANYTHING. Without judgement, I find it extremely interesting to hear about what other people believe in.
