Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Love learning about new people and cultures. Would like to contribute to a better world in whatever way that I can.
ABOUT ME
Please don't request to stay with me unless you have hosted yourself and have references. My name is Jenn and I grew up in Nova Scotia. I moved to BC when I was twenty to tree plant and fell in love. Returned to Vancouver in aug 2012 after being in the Channel Islands for seven years. After four years I moved to the Comox Valley and have been living in Cumberland since Sept 2017. I have two boys who are ten and eight and I work as a nurse. My older son is on the autistic spectrum and loves swimming. My younger son loves roller skating. Central America is one of my favourite travel destinations. Enjoy meeting people and hearing about their travels, perspective and life experience.
PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live. Keep an open mind and be mindful.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been hosting people on and off for eight years and occasionally get to surf. I have met some amazing people and enjoy the trust and good will that is shared. Occasionally I attend the social gatherings. I prioritize others who host and have references.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted when I lived in Jersey, also since moving back to Canada. Also surfed myself in Scotland, South Africa, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. They have been good experiences and it is highly addictive.

Music, Movies, and Books
The City of God, Empire of the Sun and the Last of the Mohicans are good movies and enjoy documentaries especially wildlife ones. Love the Foo Fighters, Dan Mangan and Ani Difranco. Any books from Margaret Atwood, Douglas Coupland or Tom Robbins are my favourites.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Giving birth to my two sons was pretty amazing. Also hiking down to the Grand Canyon and back up under a full moon. Tikal in Guatamala took my breath away as well as the big pyramid outside Mexico City. Volunteered as a nurse and in an orphanage in Honduras and at a farm in Laos. Raised 3000 pounds for charity hiking in Jordan
Teach, Learn, Share
I know how to do the worm forward! I enjoy yoga and in to cooking healthy vegetarian food.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer a comfortable place to stay and local information and tips depending on what you are interested in. It is nice to share a meal and spend some time together depending on both of our schedules.
