About Me
*I do not accept friend requests from people I have not met, and I do not respond to random messages with no information in them.*
I am constantly in search of experiences that reaffirm my faith in humanity. When our lives are constantly affected by ignorance and harm, I aim to surround myself with hope, positivity, and kindness.
I graduated in 2018 from Smith College, the biggest historically-women’s college in the US, where I studied Government and Education/Child Studies with a concentration in Women's Education. Although I don't want to work in government-related fields, I firmly believe that governments shape every aspect of our lives, and I therefore love learning about how it all works, both in theory and in practice. I mix this system/macro-level focus with a passion for helping individuals find their personal power as a doula. I'm currently training to be a #dynamodoula - somebody who knows, respects, and translates the magic in the earth and in ourselves.
I've spent the past year as an au pair in the Netherlands where I got to know the culture and people very well. Leaving will be incredibly difficult!
On a less personal (but just as important) level, I will be happy anywhere as long as there are dogs or ice cream...or both.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Currently I use Couchsurfing to find people to meet up with around the Netherlands, and to find hosts I can stay with during my travels. Unfortunately I cannot host others at this time, though I am eager to begin as soon as possible.
Every member I've met from the Couchsurfing community has reminded me of the kindness and generosity that still exists in this world. Couchsurfing simply attracts the kind of people that I want to meet and the friends I want to have. I also love being able to see a new place through the eyes of locals, as it gives me a better feel for life in that area, rather than just the quick tourist experience.
I used Couchsurfing at least 10 times during the cross-country roadtrip with my friend and many more times while traveling Europe as a student. I hope it will continue to be a paramount piece of my future travels.
