Left the quiet little English village I grew up in to run off to LA and seek my fortune, failed at being an actress but got bitten by the travel bug instead. I love to travel and want to see pretty much everything, even if there isn't enough time in one lifetime to see even half of it. Just want to meet lovely people and enjoy life :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Heard about couchsurfing from a backpacker I met on the Trans-Siberian and it sounded amazing, so here I am. I've stayed with friends or friends-of-friends, not from on here, who have all always been incredibly welcoming and generally lovely. As far as organised couchsurfing goes I've just been meeting up for coffee and drinks, but hoping I'll actually surf soon. Looking forward to being able to start hosting if and when I settle down enough to have my own place - at the moment I rent and my landlord would be unhappy!

Interests

Ummm...life? No, seriously, I'm interested in most things, especially if I've never done them before. As far as hobbies go, yoga, bellydance, surfing, horse-riding, swimming, art, books, movies, I'm sure there are plenty more but I can't think of them right now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Did not realise how many moments had left me awestruck till I had to choose...The first time I went to Asia, stepping out of the airport and feeling as if I'd stumbled into a different world. Taking the Trans-Siberian Railway to China and watching the culture and people merge from West to East. Going back on the Silk Road and doing the whole thing in reverse. And any number of times when I've been somewhere new, stopped for a moment, stared at it and gone "I'm actually *here*?" and not quite been able to believe it...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a decentish cook so I can make you some food if you'd like, or I can help you to practice English, French or Chinese. I could teach you to knit, or some basic bellydancing moves. And of course I can always share a big SMILE, a few crazy traveller tales and some good company!
