Обо мне
CURRENT MISSION
Life is a journey--not a destination
ABOUT ME
I am a very friendly, outgoing person. I enjoy trying anything such as cooking, concerts, wine tasting, skydiving, hiking, ballets, traveling (solo or with friends), and so on. Although I am a "nerdy" scientist, I am lucky to have a creative and imaginative side. I love all type of people and learning about new places, lifestyles and cultures.
I would be willing to Skype or Google chat with you to verify my identity. I think that would be a great way to let you know who I am.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am just couch surfing right now for school purposes. I stayed in Boston this summer with a wonderful host so that I could see a little of Boston after a conference I attended there.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I think it's great! I plan to host when I can be the best host I can be. Right now, in grad school, my house isn't always the most organized ;) However, if I couch surf I keep my spot (couch or room) organized and respectful.
Интересы
I love to cook, hike, camp, travel and spend time with friends.
I love trying new foods and restaurants. I like the mom and pop type shops and restaurants. I especially love sushi, coffee, wine and craft beer. I am SO lucky to have great breweries in San Diego.

Музыка, кино и книги
I mostly read science books right now! haha. I listen to all kinds of music and always want to learn about more.
Классная вещь, которую я сделал(-а)
I spent a month in Southeast Asia, starting in Bangkok and traveling through Cambodia and up the coast of Vietnam. It was absolutely incredible. I have been to a few other countries as well including France, Mexico, and Peru.
Учу, учусь, делюсь опытом и информацией
I have done quite a bit of budget traveling so I could teach you a bit about that. I have also done several "guided" tours which at first you may think are the super "touristy" way to do things, but they are quite the opposite. When you have a local guide (which I did both times), you become friends with a native, learn a lot from them, you can ask personal questions and receive honest answers, you learn how to be a responsible tourist, and you get a better perspective of the country than you could ever get from a book. One example was in Cambodia, where the tourists would comment (excitedly) on how "low priced" everything is, but then the guide explained how disrespectful it is to the locals. If someone came into a fancy expensive steakhouse in the U.S. and said "WOW, this is SO cheap", you would definitely feel bad. I recommend trying a guided tour. You will learn so much!
