Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd love to be looking instead for five star hotels. But I've yet to win the lottery or find a high paying job. But I suppose it's better this way, because how much can I learn from people by staying at a hotel?

My serious answer to the question: I love to see new places through the lens of a local, and being invited in to the home of one would be a great honor.
