About Me

Howdy!

I've just sold everything I own and uprooted my entire life to embark on a trip around the world. I want to taste the curries of Thailand, dip my toes in every beach, and boldly go where no Jenn has gone before! I've painted murals and food trucks back home in San Antonio, and even taught a mural class for underprivileged middle schoolers. I play guitar and am learning bass. I enjoy hiking, trying new things (especially food!), fishing, and living life to the fullest capacity. I've bought a one way ticket to Honolulu, with plans to be in Costa Rica by December to backpack through South America with friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm couch surfing to preserve funds for worldly travel mainly, but also because there's no better way to immerse yourself in a new place like sharing a roof with a local.

Interests

Adventure first and foremost. Also music, culture, food, space, poker, and fun! I could find a way to be interested in just about anything. My mind is open and willing!

We are all inextricably connected. To know you is to know myself and vice versa. Let's learn from each other!

Music, Movies, and Books

Star Trek (live long and prosper!), Master of None, GOT, Avatar TLA, Rick and Morty, Futurama, Cloud Atlas, anything Wes Anderson, Samsara, Guardians of the Galaxy, Freaks and Geeks, Documentaries, I don't watch a lot of TV. The Darjeeling Limited is my favorite movie if I have to pick just one.

I read a ton of non-fiction and autobiographies, but I also really enjoyed Ender's game, Zen and the Art of motorcycle maintenance, Philosophy, Alan Watts, Carl Sagan, anything H.P. Lovecraft or Stephen King... currently reading "The Stranger" by Albert Camus.

I love most music. Favorables include John Frusciante, Manu Chao, Sublime, Zeppelin, Wu-Tang, My Morning Jacket, Whitest boy Alive, STRFCKR, RHCP, Bob Marley and most reggae, Modest Mouse, Muse, Classical, a lot of 90's country, Fleetwood Mac, and good hip-hop.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think uprooting my life and living out of a backpack whilst exploring our planet indefinitely counts!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you to art. Or how to make a perfect cocktail. Or how to center yourself in the Tao.

This journey is an intellectual pursuit, I'd like to learn anything and everything!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Humor, a love of the outdoors, a shared enthusiasm for all things delicious(I cook!), and a healthy amount of existential dread.
