About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as much of the world as I can before potentially moving away from Europe!

ABOUT ME

I'm early 30s, female, non-smoker, from the US, lived for a while in Germany, and am currently living in England. My time in England has been great but I may be moving away from Europe soon so am hoping to see as much of Europe as I can while I'm still nearby.

Moving to a new country for my PhD, I enjoy meeting new people from around the world and learning about their cultures. I spend most of my time outside-academics out-of-doors and enjoy running, rowing, hiking, biking, and most anything that involves not sitting at a computer!

PHILOSOPHY

I'm fairly easy going. I don't see why I should try to impose any ideas on others ... and am open to meeting people of all backgrounds, etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am happy to host people coming through Chelmsford and am also interested in couchsurfing myself.

Interests

I play the violin.
I speak German, though need to practice it more to remember!
I like being outside - walking, running, rowing, anything outside, esp in good weather!
Despite being an engineer, I enjoy learning about history and other cultures.
Favorite TV shows: Doctor Who, Sherlock, Torchwood, The Killing, Waterloo Road, etc. If you enjoy any of these, we'll get along brilliantly!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am into drama/crime TV shows, books about historical fiction and science, and music of all sorts. It's generally pretty difficult to find something I don't enjoy!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Perhaps the most amazing thing I've done is the Coast to Coast Walk. I'd never gone camping on my own before, let alone done a long-distance hike -- so I was pretty amazed when I'd managed to cross England! I was going to add 'by myself' but it was definitely not alone as I met so many cool people along the way and we helped each other out as well as told entertaining stories to pass the time. Sort of like a mobile couchsurfing I suppose!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Ireland, Israel, Mexico, Netherlands, Seychelles, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, United Kingdom, United States
