About Me

I love life. I have loved teaching science for almost 25 years. I have loved raising my two grown sons. I have loved learning, meeting new people and exploring my whole life and after a kind and loving divorce I am free to explore in a more independent and adventurous way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would rather immerse myself into a place when I visit it than to stay as a tourist. Ideally, I like to help out in the community or at least give back to the family I stay with.

I am not sure that my simple town with Wisconsin weather will ever attract couch surfurs but I would be open to give back freely.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a wide variety of music from jazz to reggae, kirtan to funk with a lot of horn. Like all things in my life I appreciate variety and trying new things.

I love classic feel good movies like perhaps... City Slickers, movies based on true stories (recently saw and loved Greenbook) but most of all I enjoy documentaries about health topics or philosophy. I am enjoying watching Matias De Stephano right now.

The book I most recently finished for my book club was called "The other Einstein" about Albert Einsteins first wife. It was an interesting read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have a friend who is part Cherokee - A Native American tribe. I was invited to take part in a vision quest that he oversaw for me about 10 years ago. I spent 4 days in the woods with no food, a small bottle of water and a blanket. The objective is not to wander but to stay in a 8x8 foot square area surrounded with small tobacco filled prayer ties on a string. To be still. Not seeking answers but allowing what you most need - to come to you. It was an amazing, life changing experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love gardening and house painting. I also love to play games and can be very good company.
