About Me

It’s sad that I have to put this here but THIS IS NOT A DATING SITE I AM NOT GOING TO HAVE A DATE OR SEX WITH YOU; STAY RESPECTFUL. In a happy relationship so leave your expectations in the trash: here to meet people for acquaintance-friendship only.

Hello fellow free spirits, My name is Jennifer and I am born and raised in Rotterdam, the most cultural diverse city of The Netherlands. Currently living in a close suburb to Rotterdam called Schiedam. I've been brought up in between two cultures as my father is Dutch and my mother is Brazilian and I've moved around alot. This has always made me feel like a global citizen because I never really belonged somewhere which has made me very open minded. I study Child and Education sciences at the behavioural science faculty of Rotterdam. If you want to change the world for the better, I believe we need to teach the ones we are leaving it behind to, the children. Also, it's incredibly interesting to learn what has shaped you and me to whom we are today. I like anything geeky and in my spare time I'm interested in anything scientific, technology, arts (especially design-audiovisual) culture, documentaries; movies, gaming and cuddling with pets. I like to travel and explore alot when I can. Hopefully I will be living in Denmark for a while which will give me more opportunity to travel through Scandinavia more (Northern Lights is still on my bucket list, and I've heard northern Norway is impressive). My favorite country I have been so far is Iceland, but as I went in winter I'd love to visit in summer too as the landscape is different and there will be other things to do like whale spotting. Also I am in love with Florence/Tuscany (amazing food) and the Ardeche region (which is close so I have visited and can visit more regulary). The country I am looking forward to visit the most is Japan, but as I want to discover the whole country, it will take some time to save up for. Other countries on my list are Costa Rica, Canada, South Africa, Congo, see more of my motherland Brazil, and so much more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Being a student from a low income one parent family means I will have to be creative (and hard working) if I want to explore the world. Meeting new people is an amazing experience and enriches me enormously as a person and as a professional (as I am in Behavioural science and culture is obviously an essential part of that). Locals always have the best know-how and stories. I hope to make friendships, meet travelbuddy's and interesting people for my professional network. I am welcoming the adventure!
