About Me

I'm a former EMT currently studying to become a registered nurse. I've been traveling pretty much my entire life and I'm always excited to meet new people. I also used to be a programmer, so I've got a serious geeky streak that can show up if I'm not too careful. I've done a little bit of everything and I love backpacking, hiking, swimming, and snow sports.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to meet new people and get to know people from all over the world, maybe even make some friends. I love to travel and getting to know people around the world is always a ton of fun, but so is getting to be a part of their time visiting where I live!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music, but I'm absolutely awful when it comes to actually recognizing songs and artists. Some of my favorites are CHVRCHES, Two Door Cinema Club, Porter Robinson, and Sylvan Esso.

I haven't seen very many movies, so I'm probably not the best for recommendations here. I love trivia, but my knowledge about actors/actresses and cinema in general is depressingly bad.

Dune and Hyperion are probably the big standout book series that I've fallen head over heels for. I usually go for science fiction, but I've read a lot of classic stuff outside of the genre too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've had some pretty crazy experiences, looking back. Shipwreck diving, flying a plane, playing tennis at Wimbledon... oh, and I've crashed an ambulance... which is a story you just might be able to get me to tell over drinks.

Teach, Learn, Share

All in all, I'm not sure what I'd teach. I'm a student through and through, and more than anything I'd like to be a peer learning something we're both new to. That being said, I'm super into medical sciences, and my specialty is emergency medicine. If that's something you're interested in, I'm always happy to get into it and teach a thing or two!

I absolutely love languages and wish that I had the time to learn more. I know bits and pieces of a few of them and I'm always happy to learn a little bit more. Beyond that, just learning about other places that I've never been is exciting. I love experiencing bits of other people's culture.

I'm generally really easy going and friendly if you want to hang out, but I'm more than happy to do my own thing as well. I love exploring whatever little part of the world I'm in, even if it happens to be my own backyard. I'd love to share that experience with someone else, regardless of if I'm hosting or being hosted.
