About Me
I am new to Couchsurfing, have only hosted two people so far. I work at a research institute. I love chatting about history and politics. I'm friendly, eternally positive, and embrace and love people's differences. I love stories, particularly stories of people's lives.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I just moved into a new flat in the city in Cape Town with my lovely flatmate Emma. We are both working and are interested in hosting some fun, easygoing travellers on the weekends. We are both also avid travellers. I'm planning on going overseas in 2017. Looking some conversations with enlightened individuals that might bring new ideas and horizons into my travel plans.
Interests
My interests are broadly political. Everything from political philosophy to history, culture and people's stories of all kinds are welcome :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Queen of the Desert, War and Peace, all Jane Austin... and many more. I like quirky, original, gripping and gritty films, I appreciate realism and films that speak to the human condition as well as educate one about a history - be it a personal history or national history. Love learning.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visiting Petra in Jordan was an unexpected adventure. I'm fascinated by history and ideas originating from ancient wisdoms which can enhance perceptions of modern realities.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to talk about the history of my country, and learn about the country I'm traveling to.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can recommend some awesome podcasts, full of amazing stories from people across the world, and on current research advances and new perspectives on history. I love talking about films, and have watched many!
