About Me

What's up! Thanks for taking a minute to read. One of my biggest ambitions and loves in life is learning. I have found that one of the greatest and most expansive ways to do that is through travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travel life on a budget! Travel has been a focused goal of mine for as long as I can remember (granted my memory isn't the strongest..). I have spent the last few years working toward making this goal a reality. I left my job at the end of 2019 to make 2020 a year of travel for myself.

Currently doing a road trip from the Northeast, south down the coast. Headed to SE Asia in March to volunteer and explore.

Music, Movies, and Books

Open to all music. Not a big fan of country or Taylor Swift. That's about it :)

Movies depend on mood. Love a good comedy, action, or movie based on true events.

Books! I love reading, but struggle in prioritizing. I love books that speak true stories of oppressed communities, travel memoirs, nonfiction. The books that make you so sad when you learn of our history, yet are important to educate ourselves on. My favorite book for the past few years has been "Just Mercy" by Bryan Stevenson (which just came out in film, woohoo). I am also reading books on mindfulness/meditation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Depends how you would define "Amazing"

I will go with one of my favorite experiences: Served in a national service organization, AmeriCorps NCCC, for 2 years. With them, I served to strengthen communities throughout the US based on each communities identified needs. Some of my favorite projects having been performing disaster relief/recovery efforts in FL and LA post flooding; Boarding abandoned homes in Flint, MI to help increase safety and decrease crime; serving in OH and IA at camps for individuals with varying abilities; and serving at The Wildcat Sanctuary in MN in helping to create a safer environment for the cat residents as well as surrounding communities.
