Overview
About Me
Currently in Maine with my husband, 2 children, 2 dogs, cat and hamster. I travel a lot because I love meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. I am a very responsible home and business owner but don't quite fit the typical suburban mom mold. You won't find me at any PTA meetings and I may swear like a sailor and quite enjoy red wine. I own a tattoo shop with my husband and used to own a hookah lounge (both successful and started before the age of 30). I have also caught some grief for pulling my kids out of school the last 2 winters so I could show them the world but I have no regrets, which is the way it should be.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on Couchsurfing to meet new people and to get to know the places I travel to more in depth. I haven't yet used this site but have used Trusted House Sitters and have been known to let people stay on my couch that I just met.
Interests
Travel is my addiction for sure but I also enjoy photography as a hobby. I love animals and dogs, in particular. I currently have 2 dogs of my own but would have more if my husband didn't object. In fact, a lot of my favorite travel moments involved animals. Top of the list was volunteering at the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand overnight, where we got to feed and hang out with rescued elephants, dogs and cats. Also, owning a tattoo shop and being married to an artist has piqued my interest in tattoos and I love seeing different styles and techniques from around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
I mostly still listen to Punk but will listen to a wide variety on occasion (except most country). I am old school and still have tapes and records and still go to shows, even though I'm in my mid 30's. As far as movies and books, I don't quite have a favorite but I am extremely excited for the new Star Wars and am currently reading Howard Zinn, if that is any indication of my tastes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Survived a sketchy boat ride in a crazy storm in Borneo. There were crocodiles that had recently eaten some locals that were in the water below us and we were near the spot where the river met the ocean, with no visibility or fancy equipment. The guide said it was one of the worst he'd been in, with number one being when the propellor fell off the boat and they had to be rescued.
