About Me

CURRENT MISSION

No such thing as a bad time when you have a good attitude

ABOUT ME

I am a fun-loving, outgoing person that loves to travel and meet new people/ have new experiences. I love to laugh and tell people embarassing stories about myself, or as I put it "My Life as a Cautionary Tale". They would also tell you that I suffer severely from "FOMO" (Fear of Missing Out). They might also say that I hate to be bored but am easily amused. I'm very easygoing but I am not well-liked by people who take themselves/life too seriously.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined CS and have not yet surfed or hosted. Planning on travelling around NZ in the upcoming weeks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm looking forward to having my first couchsurfing experience!

Interests

I work most of the year as an archaeologist traveling all over the US and to England/Greece to do so. In my spare time I like to spend as much time outside as possible. I usually fossil hunt, hike, or check out local attractions/festivals, but i am always looking for new activities to try. I love cooking and I love going to ethnic restaurants. I'm currently working in Antarctica but my summer contract is nearly over and I will soon head to NZ to travel and hike around both the North and South Island before making my way to Australia and then back to digging small holes in the US.

Music, Movies, and Books

Like most people i have an ecclectic taste in music. I'm certainly not one of those people who would try to convince anyone that my musical tastes are superior to anyone elses (ie. i'm not a hipster). I never really get to see any movies anymore (i'd rather be outside), i mostly watch movie trailers online instead. I don't get a chance to read too much these days but i do enjoy reading. The most influential book i've read in the past could of years would be "Lies My Teacher Told Me" which taught me more than an entire secondary school education's worth of history classes. Mostly relevant to Americans, tho.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are so many its difficult to choose just 3. The one that comes to mind most quickly is stepping off of the plane for the first time in Antarctica and breathing in the driest and coldest air I have ever experienced while looking accross the sea ice towards Mount Terror. Another time would be scuba diving in Thailand and seeing all kinds of amazing sea creatures including octopi, rays, and sea snakes. A third moment would be standing on an outcrop of rock overlooking the monostaries of Meteora in Greece.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know of a few great fossil hunting spots in New Jersey and Maryland.
