I grew up in Texas and Wisconsin and went to college in Minneapolis, MN. My degree is in international human rights and social justice. After I graduated I lived and worked and traveled in southeast Asia (Thailand and Cambodia) before moving out to California. I'm currently learning the ins and outs of the tech and startup industry - I work in sales/marketing with a company called Houzz. (But most of what I live for is on the weekends. Exploring. Connecting. Breathing.

I haven't had any couchsurfing experiences yet myself but i'm looking forward to meeting new people and traveling solo more in the U.S.

Human rights, taste-testing, bicycling, a good glass of beer over a good conversation, chocolate, finding a good book and not being able to put it down, the human mind, interesting cafes, trying to read people, yoga, staying active, going on long hikes, honey on toast, maintaining good friendships, coffee, camping, exploring, non-classification, open-minded people, mostly all kinds of music.

Currently reading "The Other Hand". I tend to fall asleep during movies, no matter how interesting they are. But, I still love them.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I could talk about the pyramids i've seen in Mexico or the amazing sunsets on top of mile-high mountains. I could try to explain the beautiful scenery from faraway lands or that i've bunjee jumped on an island near the Gulf of Mexico. But really, the most amazing things I have done and seen tend to spurt out at the most random times in the most random places. Finding the beauty in the smallest things is what has made my life so wonderful.

I'm traveling the world to figure out what my skills are. I'm searching for a career but i'm also searching for something deeper inside myself. If there is anything I can teach you, it's how to be kind to strangers. How to fall in love with the world. Maybe I can teach you how to spell words backwards in your head faster than most people could spell them forward.
