About Me

**Right now I am back to living with my parents temporarily, so my ability to accept guests is a BIG maybe.**

Even though I was born and raised in the United Stated, I have always held a distain towards my country's politics and it's consumer culture and an urge to travel. I grew up in New York City, into an open minded, artistic family and have always wanted to involve myself in the what the rest of the world has to offer.

Primarily, I am a filmmaker, or an attempting one. I recently completed my final semester of film school in New York.

I did volunteer work in near the rainforests of Costa Rica in 2010. I assisted building/painting walls as well as childcare for local orphanages. I've backpacked around Europe twice and have studies Spanish language a few times in Spain in Salamanca and in Basque Country. I adore traveling and love the backpacking lifestyle. I love meeting new people and trying to learn more about myself every time I meet someone who is different than myself.

Additionally, I strive to be a yogi, a team player, a feminist, an animal lover, an eco friendly and sustainably minded minimalist trying to learn about what I can do to reduce my carbon footprint.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people, especially from other countries with other cultures and learning from them. My some of favorite memories traveling are usually when I've met locals. I'd love to do my part.

Music, Movies, and Books

Authors: Eddie Gorey, Maurice Sendak, Sylvia Plath, J.M. Barrie, Tanya Davis, Allen Ginsberg and the rest of the beats. I'm a lot less into literature than I'd like to be because I'm severely dyslexic and audiobooks aren't as satisfying as masocistly reading slowly through a book.

Movies: Stuff by Larry Clark, P.T. Anderson, Harmony Korine, John Waters, Todd Solondz, Gregg Araki, Lynne Ramsay, Andrea Arnold, the Dardenne brothers, Lars Von Trie, anything Charlie Kaufman is attached to.

TV: Seinfeld, Louie, Mad Men, Arrested Development, Parks & Rec, Breaking Bad, Summer Heights High, Freaks and Geeks, Blackadder, Faulty Towers, Curb, John Oliver, Broad City, Jeopardy, Bob's Burgers, Scrubs

Music: Sam Cooke, Hunx and his Punx, Bob Dylan, Born Ruffians, the Growlers, Biggie Smalls, Wu Tang, A Tribe Called Quest, Daniel Johnston, R. Crumb, Charlie Parker, Django Rheinhart, The Mighty Sparrow, Soko, Matisyahu, Rodriguez, Rolling stones, James Brown

I've recently been going through a phase of early 2000's top 40 Hip Hop that I can't shake. Play me some Ja Rule and I'll bug out.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not a huge partier anymore so I probably wouldn't know the BEST local club or non-touristy bar around. I'll still trying to hide away from them myself. But my neighborhood is definitely a luckier neighborhood in Manhattan to check out and is one subway stop away from hipster Brooklyn. Much better than Time Square in my opinion.
