ABOUT ME

We are Anthony and Jennifer, and we have our dog Ellie with us as well. She's a sweet hiking dog, Border Collie/Lab/Pit mix of love. We love traveling however we can. We hiked a little over 1000 miles on the Appalachian Trail, split between 2 years. We have hitched and hiked through 17 different states and about 5000 miles, for about 6 months. We are actually in the middle of a hitching trip right now, we hitched from Harper's Ferry, WV to Willits, CA, then up the coast of Oregon and up to Portland, then back to Willits. We are now hitching to North Carolina through the southern states of the US. We love meeting new people and hearing their life stories. Anthony plays guitar and Jennifer just started learning the Native American Flute. We both love to read, and we read just about anything. We love learning basically anything, and are always up for a good adventure.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have stayed with one family through the Couchsurfing website, but we have stayed on plenty of couches during our hitchhiking trip. We have yet to have a bad experience with this :)

Interests

We spend most of our time being outside. We love being in nature and exploring new areas, learning as much as we can about anything, reading, writing, drawing, cooking, eating, hiking, kayaking, swimming, driving around, sitting on the beach, sitting on top of a mountain, sitting by a creek, sitting in the middle of a field of grass, sitting in general, contemplating life, singing (unfortunately for those around us), playing guitar (Anthony plays well, I just randomly strum), dancing (what we lack in skill we make up for in enthusiasm), and a bunch of other stuff that is currently slipping my mind. Basically, we spend our time living life.

Books: Jennifer reads mainly fiction, classics, fantasy, Stephen King, other books that Ive gotten my hands on. Anthony reads... well, everything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, we hitchhiked almost from coast to coast in the US, that was pretty amazing. We have slept behind Walmarts, under a bridge, in a corn field, on a playground, in a cemetery, in bushes, that was... interesting. We have ridden in a cop car as a guest, not while being arrested. That was on the bucket list. We have seen the coast of Oregon. That was breathtaking. Oops, it says one thing. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Jennifer can teach crochet, how to spin a rifle (or stick, or pvc pipe, or anything with enough weight and length), along with a bunch of random, mostly useless facts. Anthony can teach some guitar, random trivia facts, and esoteric knowledge.

Learn: we both love learning anything and everything. Jennifer particularly wants to learn languages (I know some Spanish, that's it) and more about edible and medicinal plants and herbs and the world around us in general. Anthony is currently absent. More for him later.
