Overview
About Me
I'm based in Los Angeles but this year (2023), I am attempting that digital nomad life and traveling the world! I was in Chile and Argentina during the first 2 months of the year and I can't wait to go back to South America and spend MUCH more time there. March was an unexpectedly prolonged travel break.
The rest of my travel plans: I'm projecting to spend 4 months in Europe, then maybe stop in Turkey, Egypt, South Africa or Madagascar, then the next 4 or so months in East Asia (Taiwan, Japan, Korea primarily), with shorter trips to Vietnam, Thailand, Phillippines, just to name a few. Then finishing my year+ long of travel in Australia and New Zealand before heading back to LA!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet...you? Maybe? I guess we'll see, haha.
Experiencing the pleasantly unexpected has been a trend in my solo travels and I suspect CS has a lot of that. Discovery of amazing things. Learn new perspectives from other humans, do fun things that I could never have planned by googling "best thing to do in [city/place]", laugh til my belly and whole body aches, connecting with others, and so on.
Interests
- i'm a HUGE sucker for cute, artisanal, local boutiquey shops and will almost definitely buy something
- love aesthetically well-designed books/editorials, especially if the content is also fascinating. i came back from a 2-week trip in Paris with a carry-on filled entirely with books. i have a problem.
- artisanal pottery things, especially mugs and cups. do i need more mugs and cups? no, stop judging me)
- FOOD. I live to eat. I'm serious. Boring/bad food makes me sad though. Amazing street food to a fancy fixed menu type of thing. I love to try it all.
- gardens (give me all the plants, flowers, foliage, PLEASE)
- live jazz music (but also any good live music specifically in a more intimate, sometimes unexpected setting, Sofar Sounds if anyone has heard of it ;))
- art galleries and museums of topical interest to me (beyond art)
- meditation + yoga + sound baths (sans the woo)
- cocktail and/or library-themed bars/speakeasies

- visual arts exhibits
- relaxing at a cafe with no rush to go anywhere
- listening to spoken word poetry/slam poetry

Music, Movies, and Books
Live jazz is one of my favorite things in life. And drums. DRUMS.
I like a vast variety of music/movies/books that will be much more interesting to talk about in person.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I guess I've done a lot of amazing things. But a recent one I'm very proud of:
O Trek. 7 Days. (Jan 2023) Hands-down the most challenging thing I've done in my life. Physically, mentally, and emotionally. I went with a group of 4 friends and we carried all of our own gear and food. 😅
