About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission in life is to add value to the world and leave a positive legacy behind

ABOUT ME

Hello there,

My name is Jennifer Cardoza, I am originally from Los Angeles California but grew up near the Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA. I am studying Korean language in South Korea and working as an English teacher. I have a very international backgroud, my mother is from El Salvador, my father from Mexico and my fiance is from South Korea.

I have spent a lot of time abroad doing internships and volunteer projects with the student organization AIESEC.I studied International Relations in college and had the opportunity to travel and work in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Spain, China, Both Koreas, the Phillipines and Thailand. My favorite things about travel so far are the interesting strangers I get to meet and all of the delicious food.

PHILOSOPHY

When I travel, I like to leave some things unfinished so I always have a reason to go back.

Above all I appreciate the little things in life, the many stories and lessons life has to offer and to continue to look for balance in my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can potentially host you in my home during my current stay in South Korea or even back in my hometown in America. I would also be more than happy to practice English or Spanish with you if you are learning the language.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am fairly new to couch surfing but I was so happy to find out that a program like this exists. My friends here in Korea introduced me to couch surfing and I would like to open up my home for fellow travelers here. I feel like my years of studying abroad, internships and AIESEC have been preparing me all my life to finally find Couchsurfing.

Interests

My main interest include traveling, learning new languages, trying new food, dancing all style of music and watching futból (soccer), especially my favorite Spanish Teams.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie of all time is Forest Gump. There is something about his goofy innocence that I cherish. I find music reflects how I feel at the moment and I enjoy dancable music or even songs in a different language.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are a few moments that stand out to me

1. Being the first in my family to go to college and travel, I see it as a true blessing.

2. Mentoring low income high school students and seeing them go off to college. Being a teacher has been the best experience of my life so far.

3. Meeting my fiance halfway across the world after a horrible ski accident.

Teach, Learn, Share

Like I mentioned earlier, if you want to grab a coffee and practice your English or Spanish skills, maybe even help me with Korean, I am available.
