About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm a journalist/grad student specializing in long form writing and radio storytelling. I've lived abroad in Asia and reported stories in South Korea and Brazil, as well as all around the state of California. I hope to travel around the world finding and telling amazing stories.
I live in the TINIEST studio so I am unable to host right now, but I have hosted before on an informal basis and I look forward to hosting again in the future when I'm not a student and have a little more space (or at least a couch!).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I'm a journalist, so I am A) broke and B)interested in meeting new people.
Interests
I'm interested in true stories, the ways in which marketing affects us, the way the world works in unexpected ways, food policy, international agricultural trade, food security, food equality, the spaces between people.
I enjoy: Listening to a really great true story, listening to the radio, listening to music. Walking. Snuggling my cat, going on an adventure with an unforeseeable end, seeing new places, eating, reading, scouring Craigslist for good deals, packing my bags, washing my face in the morning, finding the perfect words, cooking a great pasta sauce, dipping bread in oil, hitting the jackpot.

Teach, Learn, Share
"We take stories and purvey them to people with money. And in the conventions of my profession, which I try to adhere to, we can’t pay people for stories. Anyone with a conscience who does this work grapples with that reality, and if they don’t, I’d worry...But if writing about people who are not yourself is illegitimate, then the only legitimate work is autobiography; and as a reader and a citizen, I don’t want to live in that world."
