Married for 5 years to Matthew. We live in Thunder Bay, ON with our cat (Willow) and dog (Maggie).

I am a quiet, book loving person who loves the outdoors. I grew up with plenty of open untouched space around me so I sometimes struggle living in a city where I can hear and see my neighbours.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My husband and I are trying to plan a trip to the UK this year and we were told this might be a great resource for us to meet locals so we can see the things typical tourists don't see.

This is probably going to be the last large trip we both do before having kids so we want to make the most of it. I have traveled a bit but would like to take this chance to see a little bit more of the world.

Matthew owns his own film editing company and works in the small industry in Thunder Bay and I work as a technologist/intern interior designer with a small firm.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love most music but don't really enjoy country or rap.

We both love movies like Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel or DC and I love biopics or period dramas.

I am a sucker for books/authors like Nicholas Sparks but also like books like the Lord of the Rings and A Song of Ice and Fire. (I don't do as much reading for fun as when I was younger since most of my reading in the past 10 years has been tied into my career/schooling).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked all the way around the Sleeping Giant in one day with my friend Becky and my dog Maggie. It was a total of approximately 32 km in 8 1/2 hours.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn about places and the significance of buildings etc to the area. I grew up in a area of the world that relies on tourism and from that my love of history developed.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my knowledge (though limited) of buildings/art/design. Matthew loves film and loves to share his experiences and understanding of the film world.
