About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission? My mission is to host folks from all over and show them my favorite city in the world!

ABOUT ME

I've lived here for almost two decades and I love it! As a teacher I'm lucky to have a lot of time off to play outside. I enjoy biking, paddling, traveling, reading, gardening, finding outdoor festivals and movies (Portland has a lot going on in the summer), and happy hours.

PHILOSOPHY

Be nice because you never know what people have gone through in their lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I stumbled into the couch surfing culture by accident when I started dating a long time member. After helping him host a couple for three days during a ice/snow storm (his furnace went out), I decided it was time to move it to the "next level" and actually sign up! I've met only wonderful people through my guy and his guests! And an update from when I first wrote this: now we're married! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As said above, I was able to host through a natural disaster, and it was nothing but FUN! We live near the airport and have always wanted to help people who were stuck overnight, but never knew how. Through my husband, I've met great people with amazing stories. After spending a year in Europe in college, I realized I miss the old fashioned, kindness of lending a bed to sleep in for a traveler. Connecting with people always allows me to learn more about the world.
