About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Curing and preventing boredom through travel
ABOUT ME
I finally gave up everything I had and knew (including the beautiful couch I will keep in my pics out of reverence) to live abroad and travel! I would say I took the easy way out by becoming an English teacher, but I take the job very seriously, except for how much fun I have with my students. I write for fun, but cannot use my powers for good, such as writing a great description of myself. I can write some basics about myself, but can't seem to do so all that well. I'm basically a whole bunch of contradictions rolled into one. I'm an introvert, except that I love meeting people; I am not a party animal, but I like to go out at night (especially when I'm travelling). I'm a caring person with a good sense of humor who loves learning about and from other people!
I have worked in two Museums, so I'm a very interesting person. ;-) I'm also very humble, lol.
I'm always looking to meet great people to have interesting conversations with, so if you are wherever I am for a while or a day, feel free to get in touch!
PHILOSOPHY
I'll try anything twice, and then again five years later.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host, meet with people, and sometimes surf. I love the spirit of the site and the people who participate!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have learned so much from everyone I have hosted and met, and can't say enough great things about couchsurfing and the people I've met through it.
Interests
I'm very into fitness: I work out at home, but also join up at several places around the city; mainly weight lifting and yoga. I'm a voracious reader (which any writer must be). I love food and all sorts of drinks, and I'm also a rather good cook. I like learning from different people and gathering different experiences to become a more well-rounded person. And not to be redundant, but of course I love travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can be a pretty indecisive person, but I greatly enjoyed "Natives and Exotics" by Jane Allison; the Financial Times weekend edition (do you have one!? my brother-in-law's subscription ran out- help!); Arrested Development; I'm a TOTAL Law & Order junkie (except Criminal Intent); and... lots of other stuff that I just can't think of right now.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Driving through Kruger National Park, exploring Ayutthaya, and having my one crazy night in Bangkok. So that's three, not one. As you can see, I took up writing instead of math for a VERY good reason!
Teach, Learn, Share
Hmmm. How NOT to react to being stuck in traffic? Yes, I can definitely serve as a great example of what NOT to do. Except for parallel parking-- I have acquired some real skills there. Truly, you will be envious, unless it's a huge parking spot. Then you can marvel at my inability to get a small car into a huge space. I can also teach you how to be 20 minutes early for meeting friends who are always running 20 minutes late!
All joking aside, I think everyone has something or some things they can teach to and learn from others.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Life and travelling experiences, music, books, and my mad cooking skills. No lie: anyone who has had my cooking wants more! And if we can pull the ingredients together, I love introducing people to my favorite martini.
But mainly I just enjoy conversing with my hosts and learning about where I am!
